General comments
Empirische antibiotische therapie alleen starten na afname materiaal van gewrichtsprothese en bloedkweken ivm noodzaak langdurige therapie.
Empirische therapie aanpassen in overleg met arts-microbioloog op basis van kweekresulaten en chirurgisch beleid ten aanzien van prothese.
Bij antibiotische behandeling met (delen van) prothese en/of cement in situ is de therapie langdurig (3 tot 6 maanden) met combinatie therapie waaronder een middel met activiteit in biofilms.
De therapie wordt gekozen op basis van kweekuitslagen.
